Local H’s Brian St. Clair Leaving The Band!

5 Comments Uncategorized

It’s been great to play with Scott the last 14 years. I’m very proud of my recordings and live performances with Local H. My sincere thanks go out to all the fans for their support over the years. It’s been a great run, but all good things come to an end. I wish the new drummer, whoever it is, all the best. I will be focusing on my tour management and production company, Tour Time Productions, as well as other live and studio projects.” – Brian

On August 21, Brian St. Clair, drummer for Local H called it quits after 14 years of drumming his heart out alongside Local H guitarist/vocalist, Scott Lucas. According to the band the split was mutual and amicable (Brian took over for original drummer, Joe Daniels, who left the group in 1999.) Before joining Local H, Brian was the drummer for punk group Triple Fast Action. Along with drumming duties, St. Clair was also Local H’s tour manager. So where does Brian St. Clair go from here? Brian will step from behind the drum kit to focus on his tour management and production company, Tour Time Productions. Aside from looking after Tour Time Productions, Brian will also focus on side projects that he has on the back burner.

Following the announcement of the split, both Scott and Brian released their own statements on Local H’s Facebook page: “I got to play with one of my favorite drummers ever – and that’s awesome. Brian’s one of the best musicians I’ll ever play with. I can’t thank him enough.” – Scott

Following a short fall tour of make-up dates (the dates of this fall tour had to made up after Scott Lucas’ mugging in Russia back in February. The mugger severely damaged Lucas’ vocal chords, thusly forcing Local H to cancel three of their East Coast dates. The tour begins on September 6th in Madison, Wisconsin with Brian’s last show taking place in Local H’s hometown of Illinois at the House Of Music and Entertainment in Arlington.

He hit the skins even harder than Joe, but for as hard as he hit the drums, it was never sloppy, and always rocking.

There have not been any further announcements as to who would be filling St. Clair’s ginourmous shoes, but whomever Scott picks as Brian’s replacement has to be up to par with Brian, if not better. I never believed that after Joe Daniels left the group that Scott would ever find someone as good as him, and in walked Brian and he brought a whole new element to what made up Local H. He hit the skins even harder than Joe, but for as hard as he hit the drums, it was never sloppy, and always rocking. kilScene.com was lucky enough to snag a pair of tickets to Local H’s October 5th show in New York at Santos Party House. We can’t make any promises, but rest assured, kilScene will try and snag one of the last interviews that this incarnation of Local H will ever give with Brian St. Clair as its drummer.

speaking for myself as a die hard Local H fan for a number of years, Local H has never sounded better than when Brian took over drumming duties.

Brian St. Clair brought a lot to Local H’s sound and speaking for myself as a die hard Local H fan for a number of years, Local H has never sounded better than when Brian took over drumming duties. Although I wish this incarnation of Local H would remain unchanged, its not up to me and Brian St. Clair has to do whatever makes him happy. From kilScene.com, I say thank you Brian for all the memories. Your drumming in Local H over the last 14 years will not soon be forgotten. Local H is better for you having been in the group.
