That song…those guitars. That song put me in the mood for some healthy anarchy

LIONS (no, I didn’t forget the caps lock was on, that’s just how their name is stylized) are a band out of Austin, Texas and if you’ve never heard of them before, then don’t worry. That’s what I’m here for. Confession time: Before this year I hadn’t heard of LIONS either. No, it was a little known FX show called Sons Of Anarchy and their fantastic music supervisor Bob Thiele, Jr. that put me on all this great balls out music. LIONS are part of that featured awesomeness. If you’re a fan of this excellent show, then you know of what I speak. It was episode 2 of season 4 (the episode in question was called “Booster” just in case you’re curious to check it out.) when I first became aware of this band and oh how happy it makes me to say that. That song…those guitars. That song put me in the mood for some healthy anarchy (no pun intended. Seriously.)

If you’re a fan of Stone Temple Pilots and Porno For Pyros/Jane’s Addiction, then this band will fit nicely in your already kick ass collection of music.

Why are LIONS awesome? Simple. This band is nice and heavy, but not Black/Death Metal heavy. If you’re a fan of, let’s say Stone Temple Pilots (the original and current line-up) and Porno For Pyros/Jane’s Addiction, then this band will fit nicely in your already kick ass collection of music, CD and mp3 alike.

That’s right. I said Rock Pop, and there ain’t anything wrong with that.

LIONS are just another example of Rock Pop working out. That’s right. I said Rock Pop, and there ain’t anything wrong with that. If you’re a real “rocker” (whatever that means) then expand your horizons already! Besides, it’s not like I’m trying to push some Nickleback clones on you. No. Everyone knows Nickleback sucks (including Nickleback).

Rock. Done right.

Do yourselves a favor. Listen to LIONS 2009 EP, Let No One Fall and then feel free to judge accordingly. Rock is far from dead and LIONS are proof of that. So crack open a cold one (it is summer after all and you are over 21. Unless you’re not, in which case, oops!) and enjoy LIONS. Rock. Done right.
